A major exercise by the British military is currently underway at the training area in Paderborn-Sennelager. Around 650 soldiers from a reconnaissance regiment will train there with several military vehicles until October 22nd. But the British Air Force is also rehearsing.
And that in a spectacular way. Starting on October 11, two tornadoes with 27 mm cannons will simulate low-level ground attacks on a total of eight days for around 90 minutes. The pilots will also shoot targets on the military training area in Paderborn-Sennelager. The British military is already pointing out that at least this part of the exercise cannot be ignored.
But it is a pure routine exercise. Some of the soldiers will also train outside of the Senne, on larger private estates in Büren-Brenken and Willebadessen. The exercise is used to cover long distances and to covertly monitor targets.
