Wharf crane thunders down: three workers injured (Vorst)

frost –

Striking accident on the Alsembergsesteenweg in Forest Monday morning. At about 8.50 am a large crane fell down on a construction site. How exactly that could have happened is yet to be determined. The large colossus ended up on a public road, where it also damaged the facade of a building.

“That does not pose any problems for the stability of the building,” says Sarah Frederickx of the Brussels-South police zone. “The labor inspectorate will now have to determine what exactly went wrong on the site.”

Miraculously, only three people were slightly injured by the debris. It concerns three workers who were working on the construction site. They were taken to hospital for treatment.

The street is completely blocked. The Brussels fire brigade is trying to re-open the road as quickly as possible. Bus traffic on lines 48 and 70 has also been interrupted.
