Leon Tsoukernik is suing Facebook for € 20 million in damages

It is enough. For weeks the good name of King’s Casino in Rozvadov has been falsely advertising an online casino on Facebook. King’s boss Leon Tsoukernik strikes back and is now suing Facebook for CZK 500,000,000 (around € 20,000,000) because the site would have to check the provider’s license.

Again and again you can see the advertisement of an online casino with the King’s Casino. The Grand Casino Asch and Casino Wien were also featured on these false advertisements. Every new customer is offered CZK 3,000 (around € 115) as a bonus. The King’s warned of the scam weeks ago, but the advertisement appears again and again on Facebook.

King’s Boss Leon Tsoukernik

Now it’s enough for Leon Tsoukernik and he strikes back. The Czech Republic has a very strict gambling law that only allows licensed online casinos. King’s Casino definitely does not operate an online casino and it would be Facebook’s duty to check these licenses. Again and again there were problems in this context, but in the opposite sense – casinos like King’s had to prove their licenses before their Facebook pages were reactivated. Now this check seems to be completely ignored on Facebook and Leon does not accept that and expressly distances himself from the dubious offer. After multiple requests to Facebook to eliminate advertising did not meet with approval or were only dismissed with standard answers, he is now suing for € 20,000,000 in damages, because after all, King’s is damaged by Facebook’s negligence. It’s all about the reputation and brand of King’s Casino being damaged by false advertising. The King’s has been internationally known for years and is also home to Europe’s largest poker room.

Fraudulent advertisements on Facebook are no mean feat. The reach of the social medium is gigantic and advertising is often trusted blindly. Although Facebook claims to carefully examine all of its advertisements, many cases in the past have shown that Mark Zuckerberg’s billion dollar company has its own income more important than the safety of its users.

Leon Tsoukernik’s lawsuit against Facebook is very promising – and it wouldn’t be the first time that Facebook has had to pay millions in compensation. Poker company will keep you updated on the matter.
