Berlin (dpa) – FC Bayern has weakened on the apparently safe path to the 31st German championship title. The record champion did not get beyond a 1: 1 (0: 0) against 1. FC Union Berlin and lost two points from his thick seven-point cushion on the 28th matchday of the Bundesliga.
Followers RB Leipzig, meanwhile, finished SV Werder Bremen away with 4: 1 (3: 0) and thus confirmed their lurking position in case of failures at Bayern. In the direct duel for third place, Eintracht Frankfurt prevailed 4: 3 (2: 1) against VfL Wolfsburg and are now in fourth place only one point behind Lower Saxony.
