More and more German states are deciding to tighten up corona measures on their own. National rules were introduced this week and on the basis of this, for example, the schools are closed, most shops, all cafes and clubs are closed. But some states do not go far enough.
In Bavaria, Saarland and Hesse, no groups larger than five people are allowed on the street. In Baden-Würtemmberg that is not even more than three people. Also restaurants, hairdressers, garden and hardware stores are closed and in the first villages and towns a total lockdown implemented. You are no longer allowed to take a walk or sport on the street.
The frustration about Germans who flout the rules is mounting. There are calls from various sides to end ‘corona parties’: groups of young people who gather on the street to pass the time. Police have intervened in several places in the country to break up these parties:
