Sayonara! Apple stops production of iMac Pro

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Apple is reportedly no longer producing iMac Pro computers. The company now just has to wait until the computer stock is sold out.

MacRumor first saw this notification on the iMac Pro product page and then confirmed to Apple about the halt to production of this device, as reported by Gizmodo, Monday (8/3/2021).

Apple then notified the outlet that once the supplies ran out, the iMac Pro would no longer be available. Currently the only version available now is the standard version, which costs US $ 5,000, as Apple has eliminated additional upgrade options.

According to MacRumors, Apple said that the 27-inch iMac released last summer, which will likely be the last one with an Intel chip, is the preferred choice for most iMac Pro users.

Released in 2017, the iMac Pro was released as Apple’s most powerful Mac computer at the time. It’s unclear how many iMac Pro were sold. Until now the device had not received any substantial hardware updates since its debut.

It’s reported that the 2020 27-inch iMac will be the last to feature a traditional iMac design, or a thick bezel around the screen with an aluminum chin and a large Apple logo in the center.

If true, this will be the first iMac overhaul in nine years. The company is also said to be working on two new Mac Pros, which are the most expensive desktops.
