Covid-19. Several magistrates fined in an underground restaurant in Paris

About ten clients, including several magistrates, were checked in a restaurant at Paris, Friday January 29. They received a fine of 135 €, while the measures to counter the pandemic of Covid-19 have been strengthened.

The restaurant L’Annexe, located on the Île de la Cité, opposite the courthouse, welcomed officials on their terrace of about fifteen meters, on which they ate standing and without a mask, according to information from the Parisian .

The terrace was sheltered but what was happening there was visible from the outside. A police bicycle patrol passing through the street checked the customers. According to the Ile-de-France daily, magistrates tried to destabilize the police during the check.

24 underground restaurants closed since January 28

On Saturday, January 30, the Paris prefecture indicated that, since January 28, 24 illegal restaurants have been checked and will be subject to an administrative closure of 15 days, including that of L’Annexe.

The restaurants are still closed to the public since the decree of October 29, 2020. Delivery or take-out are nevertheless authorized.
