Hossam Arafat answered FilGoal.com, saying: “We appeared in the first half against Pyramids in a way that was not good at all to the extent that the coach of the team poured his anger on us between the two halves of the match.”
“In the locker room, the coach told me that I would participate in the second half to improve the attacking performance, and I went to do the warm-up exercises,” he continued.
“Some of our players drink tea or coffee and I don’t drink either of them, so after I finished warming up I took one of the authorized energy drinks,” said Hussam Arafat.
He stressed, “My colleagues tried to hide me so that we do not make an advertisement for the drink. This is all there is.”
And on what was raised about his accusation of doping, he replied laughing, “Our team doctor works in the doping committee in the Football Association, so how can I do that? Of course it is illogical and this is all that happened.”
The 30-year-old participated with the Tigris this season in six matches, during which he scored one goal.
