The first trial sentence of Dongyang University professor Kyung-Shim Chung, who was charged with the child’s entrance examination and allegations of private equity funds, is issued today (23rd).

Considering that the adjournment recommendation due to the spread of Corona 19 is a case of great social interest, the judiciary decided to proceed with Professor Jeong’s first trial sentence as scheduled.
Professor Jeong was handed over to trial for fifteen charges, including violations of the Capital Markets Act, forgery of private documents, and a teacher concealing evidence.
Suspicion of irregularities in the entrance examination of children, such as forgery of citations that were held until court demonstrations, and suspicions of private equity funds, including borrowed name investments or false consulting contracts,
Such as suspicion that the related evidence was removed by having a brokerage employee.
Earlier, the prosecution identified this case as an offense of the privileged class and a new political conflict, and asked the court to sentence Professor Jeong to a medium sentence of 7 years in prison and a fine of 900 million won.
On the other hand, Professor Jeong’s side reflects on the fact that the family enjoyed benefits without criticism, but has always claimed innocence, saying that it was only a case inflated by the prosecution’s target and overinvestigation.
In the meantime, there has always been a coexistence of the view that the prosecution attempted to defeat the power-type corruption investigation with the logic of the political camp over the case of Professor Jeong, and the extreme evaluation of the’Indian rain system’ type investigation that the prosecution forcefully dug in to protect the vested rights.
Socially, it is an incident that actually divided the entire people into two and caused a great conflict, so whatever conclusions can be reached, the impact will be difficult.
