Almere City FC booked a last-minute victory in the Kitchen Champion Division on a visit to Young PSV. Thanks to a goal in injury time, the Flevolanders won 1-2 and stay in the trail of leader SC Cambuur.
Almere City fell behind De Herdgang after four minutes by a goal from Fodé Fofana. The attacker of Jong PSV got the ball in front of his feet after a free kick and found it net.
For a long time, the 1-0 remained on the scoreboard, but just twenty minutes before the end Thomas Verheydt brought Almere City to the same level with a header. The game seemed to be heading for a draw, but Elias Sørensen still gave the visitors the win after 94 minutes.
Thanks to the victory, number two Almere City is three points behind Cambuur. The Frisians also won at Excelsior on Sunday (0-1). Young PSV occupies sixteenth place.
Later in the evening, the last game of the first half of the season is scheduled in the Kitchen Champion Division. Young Ajax will play against Telstar from 9 p.m. on Sportpark De Toekomst.
