Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been a total of 280,648 laboratory-confirmed cases of infection with the coronavirus, as the BAG announced on Wednesday. A total of 11,008 people had to be treated in hospital for a Covid 19 disease. According to the BAG, the death toll in connection with Covid-19 rose to 3385.
So far, 2,460,961 tests for Sars-CoV-2, the causative agent of the respiratory disease Covid-19, have been carried out in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Compared to Tuesday, 30,229 tests were reported to the BAG. In 24.7 percent of all tests, the results over the past two weeks were positive.
Due to the contact tracing, according to the BAG, 27,718 people were in isolation and 31,661 people were in quarantine on Wednesday. In addition, 912 returnees from risk countries were in quarantine.
