Deceased actor Chadwick Boseman not seen digitally in Black Panther 2 | NOW

Chadwick Boseman, who played the role of King T’Challa in the first part of Black Panther, will not be digitally added to the film’s sequel, executive producer Victoria Alonso reports Saturday in the Argentinian newspaper Clarion.

Boseman died in August at the age of 43 from colon cancer.

“There is only one Chadwick and he is no longer with us,” said Alonso. “Our king has sadly died in real life. We are taking the time to see how we return and what we are going to do to honor his chapter and process what happened to us. It was so unexpected, so painful and horrible. “

The sequel was announced last year, then with the idea that Boseman would also play in it. There were rumors that Marvel Studios would be planning to bring Boseman back digitally in the second Black Panther-movie. This has been debunked by Alonso.

Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016, but this was not publicly known. He has starred in multiple movies while already undergoing surgery and chemotherapy for the disease. The actor died in his home in Los Angeles, in the presence of his wife and family.

The second Black Panthermovie is scheduled for release in mid-2022.
