The journalist Ahmed Schubert revealed what went on behind the scenes of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the confusion that marred some of the decisions and proposals regarding the date of the Zamalek matches and the hope in the second leg of the African Champions League semi-finals and the final match.

Schubert said on Ontime Sports: “CAF will decide on its account today, Friday, the date of the Al-Malik and Al-Raja matches and the Champions League final.”

He continued: “The Zamalek match will be held on the fourth of November and the final on the twenty-seventh of November in Egypt.”

He concluded his speech, stressing that CAF would have officially announced the dates on Thursday, but an official of the CAF emergency committee caused confusion and suggested postponing all matches for an indefinite period.

Al-Ahly had qualified for the final match of the African Champions League in the current version, waiting for what would be explained by the second-leg semi-final match between Zamalek and Moroccan Raja to see a competition for the brown princess.
