Schmidt: “I didn’t come to PSV just to stay for a year”
Roger Schmidt (54) moved to PSV Eindhoven last summer. The former Leverkusen coach gave the team an attractive style of play. It will still not be enough for the championship because Ajax Amsterdam proved to be too strong. That was advised Schmidt targeted by several Bundesliga clubs. These included Eintracht Frankfurt and Hertha BSC. However, there will be no return to their home country for the time being. Because the coach wants to fulfill his contract, which expires by 2022, like him on the club’s own website (via kicker) stressed.
Schmidt explained: “I didn’t come to PSV just to stay for a year. If I left now, I wouldn’t have the feeling of remaining PSV coach. ”With that, he put an end to all speculation about a move to the Bundesliga. Instead he will try to play with in the coming season Eindhoven to get the 25th title. However, it is still unclear whether the contract will be extended.
