Many children spend a considerable amount of time at the computer, laptop, tablet or phone. This has increased in recent weeks, as schoolchildren have to attend distance learning due to government measures. How to ensure that the child does not spend time at the computer instead of learning, for example, playing games or surfing the Internet? The answer is parental controls.
Too much time at the computer
An imaginary warning finger is the results of a survey by the State Institute of Public Health, which showed that the average five-year-old Czech child spends about 1.5 hours a day at a computer, laptop or tablet. With increasing age, this value increases and at the age of seventeen exceeds 4.5 hours per day. Boys are said to be more involved in games, while girls prefer social networks and communication.

It doesn’t have to be just about limiting the time spent playing or on the web. Especially for younger children, for many reasons, it is appropriate to monitor their Internet activities. The degree, of course, depends on many factors, from mental maturity to open communication between parent and offspring.
