7-Year-Old Child in Tulungagung Dies Suspected of Acute Hepatitis: Criteria According to the Ministry of Health

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, TULUNGAGUNG – Pediatric patients in Tulungagung East Java die suspected as a result acute hepatitis.

The patient had survived for four days being treated at the dr Iskak Hospital Tulungagung before the end die.

This female patient is 7 years old from Kedungwaru District.

“The patient died on Friday (6/5/2022) yesterday evening,” explained the Head of the Tulungagung Health Service, Dr. Kasil Rokhmat.

Dr. Kasil continued, this patient is confirmed acute hepatitis whose cause is unknown.

The definition is confirmed, because it fits the criteria set by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes).

Namely experiencing acute jaundice, aged under 10 years and the cause is unknown.

“Not because of the hepatitis virus that has been recognized so far. Not because of bacteria, amoeba and fungi,” said Dr. Kasil.

The Tulungagung District Health Office followed up this incident with an epidemiological investigation.

In addition, samples of the victim’s blood, urine and feces were also sent to the Indonesian Ministry of Health.
