7 Potential Players That Shin Tae Yong Didn’t Bring To The U-23 National Team

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Of the 29 names called Shin Tae Yong ke Indonesian National Team U-23, there are still some well-known and potential names but are not included in the list of national training players.

It is undeniable that Indonesia has a number of potential talented football players. After ‘cutting a generation’ in the 2020 AFF Cup by launching several young players, Shin has again left several names.

Shin was even brave enough to put aside the names that once had a place in the hearts of Indonesian football lovers in preparing the team for the 2022 AFF U-23 Cup.

Not only that, there are several players who are labeled as export players and are currently starting their careers abroad but are not called by Shin.

Here are seven potential players who were not called up by Shin Tae Yong to the Indonesian national team:

1. Ernando Ari Sutaryadi

Surprisingly enough, there was no Ernando’s name in the lineup of goalkeepers who participated in the national training this time considering that the former U-16 Indonesian national team goalkeeper was also brought to the 2020 AFF Cup.

The Indonesian national team goalkeeper competition is indeed quite fierce. Besides Nadeo Argawinata in the senior team, there is also Muhammad Riyandi whose name has appeared several years ago. Muhammad Adi Satrio, who became a new name in Shin’s coaching era, also added to his many positions under the rule.

2. Koko Ari Araya

If he didn’t suffer a long injury last year, Koko Ari could have been one of Shin’s regulars at the defender position. The player, who was also put forward by Aji Santoso at Persebaya, had become part of the age group national team.

Koko Ari has just returned to strengthen Persebaya in the middle of last week’s match after recovering from a ligament injury that has forced him to rest since May 2021.
