62,000 Crore Pocketed by FIFA: Launched by Own FIFA World Cup 2022 | Sports

Crores of rupees flowed into FIFA’s bank account through the organization of the soccer world cup, but none of it matters much to the host countries. FIFA’s income from Qatar’s World Cup football is around Rs 62,000 crore. About 40,000 crore rupees were obtained by selling the broadcasting rights of the World Cup. FIFA had already sold the broadcasting rights of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in 2011. This means that all this money has already been pocketed by FIFA. This year’s World Cup saw an increase of around Rs 8000 crore in advertising. This, in turn, was due to the increase in advertising revenue provided by Qatari brands. In addition to Qatar Airways, Qatar Energy, Qatar National Bank and Ureedoo have also become sponsors of FIFA in association with the World Cup. Qatar-owned BeIn Sports has acquired a share of the broadcasting rights of the last 2 World Cups, including the Qatar World Cup. Indeed, in addition to spending on the development of the World Cup infrastructure, including the stadium, Qatar has also paid billions of rupees to FIFA in advertising.
