JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Covid-19 Handling Task Force Spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito said the addition of deaths due to Covid-19 rose quite dramatically in the past week.
Wiku mentioned, in the past week there were 618 cases of death due to Covid-19.
“In the last week the number of deaths totaled 618 people. This has increased quite dramatically from the previous week of 494 people,” Wiku said in an online press conference broadcast on YouTube BNPB, Tuesday (07/28/2020).
Wiku further revealed that there were five provinces which contributed the most cumulative deaths.

As of March 2, 2020, the province of East Java became the region with the highest number of deaths due to Covid-19, 1,589 cases.
Then DKI Jakarta with 759 cases, Central Java with 564 cases, South Sulawesi with 302 cases and South Kalimantan with 271 cases.
Wiku invited all parties to work together to reduce the number of cases of death due to Covid-19.
“Hopefully, this week the number of deaths could decrease,” said Wiku.
“For that, let’s work together. Primarily in health facilities, health workers and the public, let’s pay attention to the current condition of Covid-19,” he continued.
