5 Series Nirpoin, Marc Marquez is considered impossible to break into the top 3 of the MotoGP standings

KOMPAS.com – Racer Repsol Honda, Marc Marquez, is predicted to not be able to defend the title MotoGP this season, even to penetrate the top three of the standings.

This is the opinion of MotoGP observer Carlo Pernat.

According to Pernat, Marc Marquez’s chance to become world champion in MotoGP is impossible because until the fifth series it is certain that he will not get points.

In the first series, the Spanish MotoGP, Marc Marquez failed to finish after an accident highside until he suffered a fracture injury in his right arm.

The injury made Marc Marquez twice on the operating table so he had to miss the following four series.

The four series are the Andalusian MotoGP, the Czech MotoGP, the Austrian MotoGP, and most recently the Styria MotoGP.

This fact makes Carlos Pernat predict that Marc Marquez will lose the MotoGP title, especially since the number of series this season has certainly decreased.

“Marc Marquez will not finish in the top three of the standings in this season’s championship,” said Carlo Pernat, quoted by BolaSport.com from the GPOne page.

Marc Marquez is now predicted to return to the track in the sixth series, namely the San Marino MotoGP, mid-September 2020.

If the prediction is correct, Marc Marquez only has nine series to try to defend the MotoGP title.

Marc Marquez’s chance to return to win the MotoGP world title is fairly small because he is currently still at the bottom of the standings without collecting points.

Marc Marquez is temporarily behind 67 points from Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) who leads the standings.

Seeing this condition, Carlos Pernat is not sure that Marc Marquez can immediately return to his best performance after recovering.

The reason is, the injury suffered by Marc Marquez was very severe and needed a lot of time to completely heal.

“After all he will try to win all the races because he doesn’t care about his opponents,” said Pernat.

“However, he must be careful because after suffering the injury his career is at risk,” said the 72-year-old Italian.

“Personally, after all this conspiracy, I think there will be a big mess with the doctors,” said Pernat.

Carlo Pernat’s last statement did not escape the decision of Marc Marquez who dared to step down in the second series, MotoGP Andalusia.

Marc Marquez at that time had participated in two free practice sessions until the first qualification before finally deciding to resign.

Marc Marquez’s decision was in the spotlight as he returned to racing four days after undergoing his first surgery.

Marc Marquez’s position in the Styria MotoGP will still be replaced by Repsol Honda test rider Stefan Bradl.

MotoGP Styria will take place at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, Sunday (23/8/2020). (Agung Kurniawan)
