Maudy Ayunda adding to the long list of Indonesian celebrity couples who graduated from world-renowned universities. The Indonesian artist, who is famous for his academic achievements, is married to Jesse Choi, who was a friend while studying at Stanford University.
Apart from Maudy and Jesse, previously there were several pairs of other Indonesian public figures who also graduated from world-renowned universities. One of them is the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudristek) Nadiem Makarim and Najwa Shihab.

1. Mendikbudristek Nadiem and Franka Franklin
Nadiem had studied at university majoring in International Relations, Brown University, United States. He has also participated in an exchange student at the London School of Economics, United Kingdom.
After graduating from there, Nadiem studied for a master’s degree at the Master of Business Administration, Harvard Business School, United States. Meanwhile, Nadiem’s wife also had higher education in the Netherlands, England, and Singapore.
It is said in her LinkedIn profile, Franka Franklin is a graduate of Hogeschool Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Northumbria University in England, as well as Raffles Design Institute Singapore.
2. Najwa Shihab and Ibrahim Sjarief Assegaf
Najwa Shihab used to study at Melbourne Law School, Australia, majoring in media law. While studying there, Najwa received a full scholarship from the Australian Leadership Awards.
The woman who was born on September 16, 1977, was awarded the Young Global Leader (YGL) award in 2011 from the World Economic Forum. She is married to Ibrahim Sjarief Assegaf who previously also had a master’s degree at the University of Melbourne, Australia.
3. Maudy Ayunda and Jesse Choi
Maudy Ayunda and her husband, Jesse Choi, both graduated from Stanford University with Masters of Business Administration degrees. It could be said, the world-famous campus was the meeting place for the two of them.
Prior to pursuing a joint-degree in business administration and education at Stanford, Maudy completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Oxford majoring in PPE (Politics, Philosophy, and Economics). Meanwhile, according to his personal LinkedIn account, Jesse Choi earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Columbia University, before going to Stanford University.
4. Tasya Kamila and Randi Bachtiar
Tasya Kamila is a graduate of a Master of Public Administration at Columbia University. He is also one of the students who received the LPDP (Education Fund Management Institution) scholarship.
Before flying to Columbia University, Tasya studied at the University of Indonesia, majoring in Accounting. Apparently, Tasya and her husband, Randi Bachtiar, are both pursuing a master’s degree at the same campus, Columbia University. Meanwhile, Randi himself previously received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).
5. Belva Devara and Sabrina Aggraini
Belva Devara, who is the owner of the Ruangguru learning institution, recorded a series of classy educational history. He is a graduate of Nanyang Technological University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard University, to Stanford University.
His partner, Sabrina Anggraini, is also studying at MIT for a master’s degree. Turns out, Belva proposed to her boyfriend at Killian Court or to be precise in front of the MIT building on (4/9/2021), as stated on Belva’s personal Instagram.
