According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), a lunar eclipse is an event where the light from the sun is blocked by the earth so that not all of it reaches the moon.

This event, which is one result of the dynamic movement of the positions of the Sun, Earth, and Moon, only occurs during the full phase and can be predicted in advance.

A partial lunar eclipse occurs when a portion of the Moon’s disk enters the Earth’s umbra (main shadow).

As a result, when the peak of the eclipse occurs, the Moon will appear dark, slightly reddish in color in the affected area of ​​the Earth’s umbra.

A solar eclipse is an event where the moon’s light is blocked so that not all of its light reaches Earth and it always occurs during the new moon phase.

In 2021 it happened 4 times eclipse, namely 2 (two) solar eclipses and 2 (two) times moon eclipse.

Second, the annular solar eclipse (GMC) 10 June 2021 which cannot be observed from Indonesia.

Third, the Partial Lunar Eclipse (GBS) November 19, 2021 which can be observed from Indonesia.

Fourth, the Partial Solar Eclipse (GMT) December 4, 2021 which cannot be observed from Indonesia.
