5 Covid patients died on Monday 12 July and 80 people tested positive for Covid-19 – Dagblad Suriname

The Covid virus killed 5 patients on Monday, July 12, bringing the total number of deaths to 587 since the Covid outbreak in Suriname in mid-March last year, the official Covid-19 dashboard reports on the website of the Bureau for Public Healthcare, www.bogsuriname.comMonday night.

The website covid-19.sr is, as Minister Amar Ramadhin of Health informed Dagblad Suriname, not an official website on which Covid figures are published daily via a ‘dashboard’.

80 people tested positive on Monday (that was 124 on Saturday and 90 on Sunday) and 106 patients were declared cured. 234 Tests have been performed.

On Monday, 33 patients were hospitalized in Intensive Care Units and a total of 139 people with the virus are now in hospital.

1,096 people will be in isolation on Monday.

The total number of people infected with Covid-19 since the outbreak in mid-March 2020 now stands at 23,463.
