The Guimarães City Council announced today the reopening, as of Monday, of the leisure parks, ecovia, library and municipal archives, within the scope of the municipality’s deconfination plan.
In a statement, the municipality adds that the cemeteries reopen as early as Friday, with restrictive measures.
“The measures taken by the municipality of Guimarães seek to correspond to the need to resume the provision of public services in conditions that do not prejudice the containment of the pandemic, so that its maintenance, restriction or expansion will always be conditioned to the evolution of the local epidemiological situation. of the Municipal Commission for Civil Protection and the relevant national guidelines that will happen in the coming weeks ”, states the statement.
Municipal cemeteries are open from Monday to Saturday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and the use of a mask is mandatory.
Access is limited to 20 people at the Monchique cemetery and 30 at Atouguia.
The sharing of cleaning materials is prohibited and social distance of at least four meters is mandatory.
At funerals, there can only be 15 people, except for those where this limitation makes it impossible for spouses or de facto partners, ascendants, descendants, relatives or the like.
In the cemeteries of the parishes, the rules of use defined in the Council of Ministers of 30 April apply, with the boards “to adopt more restrictive measures appropriate to their reality”.
Leisure parks should only be used for walking and running, maintaining a minimum social distance of four meters.
On the ecovia, the social distance to be maintained is the same, and the gathering of people and the use of rest areas are also prohibited.
The Raul Brandão Municipal Library and respective hubs are only open for home loans or return of documents and by appointment.
The Alfredo Pimenta Municipal Archive allows for face-to-face consultation, “if absolutely essential” and only through individual assistance by appointment 24 hours in advance, limited to 75 minutes per person and one person per table.
The use of a mask is mandatory, and it is also necessary to maintain social distance and comply with the respiratory etiquette.
The Gémeos Castro Athletics Track can only be used by athletes of high competition, with prior appointment and without the use of a spa.
At the same time, as well as starting on Monday, the suspension of payment in parking meters and car parks operated by the municipal company Vitrus will end.
As of May 18, there is authorization to occupy public space with terraces, according to the rules and number to be defined by the Government.
There will also be permission to hold small markets for the sale of food products at retail fairs.
In the meantime, municipal equipment such as the Casa da Memória, Centro Internacional das Artes José de Guimarães, Centro Cultural Vila Flor, stations will remain closed until the date to be defined by the Government, Health authorities and the Municipal Civil Protection Commission. tourism, Centro de Ciência Viva, Antiques and Second Hand Market, drinking fountains, public tanks, municipal sports equipment, maintenance circuits, playgrounds and swimming pools.
All events, activities and municipal projects that enhance the concentration of people remain suspended, also until a date to be defined.
