Although the spread of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in Korea has entered a phase of decline, confirmed cases have appeared one after another across the country on the 16th.
According to the quarantine authorities and local governments such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government, a total of 474 new confirmed cases nationwide tested positive for Corona 19 from 0 o’clock to 9 PM on that day.
It is 50 fewer than 524 people counted at the same time the day before.
In the area where confirmed cases were found, 334 (70.5%) in the metropolitan area and 140 (29.5%) in the non-metropolitan area.
By province, Gyeonggi 159, Seoul 140, Incheon 35, Busan 21, Ulsan 17, Gyeongnam 16, Gwangju/Gyeongbuk 15 each, Daegu 13, Gangwon 12, Jeonnam 10, Chungbuk 7, Chungnam 6, Jeonbuk 5 and Daejeon 3.
Of the 17 trials, there have been no confirmed cases in Sejong and Jeju.
As there is still time until midnight when the count is closed, the number of new confirmed cases to be announced as of 0:00 on the 17th is expected to increase. Looking at the recent trend of confirmed cases, it is expected to reach around 500.
On the previous day, after 9 pm, the number of people increased by 56, and the final was 580.
The momentum of the’third pandemic’, which has continued for more than two months since mid-November last year, has been eroded in the new year.
The number of new confirmed cases this month was 1,27 → 820 → 657 → 1,20 → 714 → 838 → 869 → 674 → 641 → 657 → 451 → 537 → 561 → 524 The number of people → 513 → 580 people was recorded, keeping below 1,000 people except for two days.
In particular, the declining trend of confirmed cases of local outbreaks that are believed to be infected within the community is remarkable.
In the last week, the number of confirmed cases of local outbreaks averaged 516 per day, dropping to the early 500’s. At the end of last month, the peak period, it had exceeded 1,000 people.
In the case of major infections, a total of 15 new confirmed cases came out on the same day, with 8 additional confirmed cases at Hyojeong Nursing Hospital where group infection occurred in Gwangju.
In addition, the number of confirmed cases related to the BTJ Universal Center in Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do increased by 27 in a day to 756.
The cumulative confirmed cases related to the Dong-gu detention center in Songpa-gu, Seoul increased to 1,221, and the number of confirmed cases related to hospitals in Goesan, Eumseong, Jincheon-gun, and Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, respectively, increased to 438.
