In an effort to avoid and overcome obstacles to integration into society, the National Center for the Promotion of Mental Health recommended following 4 steps to psychologically rehabilitate the prisoner after his release from prison and help him coexist with his surroundings and society. The Center called for the necessity of psychological rehabilitation for the prisoner after his release from prison, in order to avoid the continuation of several influences on the prisoner even after His release from prison is represented by how society deals with the prisoner and its view of him, and the extent of his ability to reintegrate with his surroundings. The center pointed out a number of matters that have a role in the psychological rehabilitation of prison inmates before their release, including providing support programs and training courses to return to normal life outside the prison. Prolonging the period of time for visits, whether from family or friends, in addition to providing the inmate’s community with information about the inmate’s behavior, this contributes to improving the methods of dealing with him, and finally providing workshops during the final period of the inmate’s sentence that help him enter and engage in the labor market. 4 steps to rehabilitate the prisoner Psychologically:

  • Stay at home and sit with family members while avoiding the prison experience at first.
  • Performing simple household tasks such as helping to tidy the house or helping to prepare food.
  • See a psychologist if symptoms of psychological disorders appear – talk to a close person after a while about the negative feelings he or she is experiencing.
