Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

At least four residents Palestine at some point on West Bank died as a result of gunfire Israel on Friday (14/5).

The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that a man was found dead due to a gunshot wound from the hot lead by Israeli forces.

Israeli soldiers claim they shot the man for attempting to stab officers at the military post of Ofra, north of Ramallah.

In addition, the Palestinian Ministry of Health also reported that another man died immediately after being shot by Israeli soldiers near the Jenin area.

According to the Israeli army, they did shoot “a provocateur” who wanted to spark a “riot” near Jenin.

Meanwhile, two other Palestinians were also killed by live rounds of Israeli soldiers during clashes in the north of the West Bank.

AFP reported that violence in the West Bank is indeed frequent, but the number has increased in line with the attacks on each other between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip since last Monday.

The Palestinian Red Cross reported that as of Friday, at least 100 people were injured by Israeli army rubber bullets or tear gas.

Tensions in the region have been running high since last Friday, when Palestinians voiced their rejection of the Israeli Supreme Court decision.

The ruling allows for the expulsion of Palestinians from their homes on land claimed by Israeli settlers.

The situation got hotter earlier this week, when Israelis wanted to enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound to commemorate the annexation of Jerusalem in the Six-Day War in 1967. The annexation was not recognized by the international community.

Hundreds of Palestinians then visited the Al-Aqsa Mosque and reportedly threw stones at security officers. Clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces were unstoppable.

Since then, Israelis and Palestinians have attacked each other. The Palestinian faction, Hamas, fired more than a thousand rockets, while Israel continued to launch air strikes on the Gaza Strip that killed a total of more than 100 people.
