Bhubaneswar: A devotee donated kilos of gold and silver to the Puri Jagannath Temple. The temple received 4 kg of gold and 3 kg of silver. The names of the donors have not been released by the temple authorities.
Sri Jagannath Temple Committee Chairman Krishnan Kumar said the donation was received on Sri Vasantha Panchami day. The gold and silver ornaments were handed over to the temple in the presence of other officials. He also said that the devotee had specifically informed him not to divulge his name.
The idols were donated for special poojas. The ornaments include a gold idol face, a lotus and a centerpiece. Krishnan Kumar added that the jewelery will be kept in the treasury of the temple office under tight security.
