The Latvian national team of 3×3 basketball will take part in the qualifying tournament of the European Cup on June 4 and 5 in Constanta, Romania.
In the first game, the Latvian team (Katie Vihmane, Anita Miķelsone, Paula Mauriņa and Marta Miščenko) defeated the Bulgarian national team with 15: 1, ensuring the right to play in the quarterfinals. Miščenko and Mauriņa scored 6 points and Miķelsone scored 3 points. In the fight for the first place in the group, the Latvians lost to the Czech national team with 12:13. After six minutes, Latvia was in the lead with 9: 2, but in the end the opponents used the note set by our team, scoring a lot of points with free throws. Mishchenko scored 5 points, Vihmane 3, Miķelsone and Mauriņa 2. In group D Czech Republic – Bulgaria 16: 5.
In the quarterfinals on Sunday at 12:10, they will have to play with the 1st place winner in Group B, the Turkish national team, which beat the Romanian national team with 16:13 and the Italian basketball players with 21: 9.
The three best teams of the tournament will receive a ticket to the final of the European Cup, which will take place on 9-11. will be held in Graz, Austria, on September. The 4th place winners will also be able to play in the final tournament if they have a better balance than the 4th place winners in the qualifying tournament in Israel (June 9-10).
The Latvian men’s team is already guaranteed a place in the final tournament of the European Cup.
