372 corona infections – new high in the state of Bremen

The health authorities in the state of Bremen registered 372 new corona cases on Wednesday. The city of Bremen accounted for 325 new infections, and there were 47 cases in Bremerhaven. This is the highest number of new infections so far for both the state and the city of Bremen. Although a total of 385 new infections had been reported in the country on November 25, this included around 100 reports from the previous day that had remained due to the warning strike at the health department. According to the health department, there is no obvious reason for the high number of new infections. There are no particularly severe outbreaks, said Lukas Fuhrmann, spokesman for the health authority.

The incidence is increasing in both cities: in the city of Bremen from 234.4 to 239.3 and in Bremerhaven from 188.5 to 191.1. In addition, four other people died in connection with the corona virus: three in Bremen, one in Bremerhaven.

Hospitalization incidences are increasing in Bremen and Bremerhaven

The incidence of hospitalization in the city of Bremen is rising slightly and, with a value of 6.18, is above the threshold value of 6. If the incidence value is above the limit value for five consecutive days, the Senate could decide to switch to a higher warning level. Warning level 2 currently applies in Bremen. Bremerhaven, on the other hand, will switch to the highest warning level 3 from Friday. The hospitalization incidence remains unchanged at 9.69 and is thus well above the threshold value.

A total of 87 people who have been infected with the corona virus are in hospital in the state of Bremen. 66 in the city of Bremen, 21 in Bremerhaven. In Bremen, 19 people are treated in intensive care units, seven in Bremerhaven. While 13 corona patients are artificially ventilated in Bremen, there are seven corona sufferers in Bremerhaven.
