Mönchengladbach. The lecture-free period is over: In the past few days, 525 young people have started their studies at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, including 310 in the Bachelor’s and 215 in the Master’s area. Since only two departments start with Bachelor courses in the summer semester, the number of new students in the spring / summer is traditionally low.

University President Dr. Thomas Grünewald welcomed the first semester of the Faculty of Business and Economics digitally: “Despite the current pandemic conditions, you will receive the best possible support from us. You will receive a job market-oriented education and get the tools for a successful job entry. “

Of the approximately 310 first-year students in the Bachelor’s degree, 220 are in the Business Administration degree programs (BBS), Business Administration, Taxes and Auditing as well as Business Informatics, all of them in the Economics Department in Mönchengladbach. In Krefeld, a total of 83 freshmen are starting in the courses of applied therapy sciences (ATW) and nursing, 68 of them in ATW and 15 in nursing.

In the master’s area, 23 courses with around 215 students will start in the summer semester. Among them, the Master in Business Management (40) and the advanced Master in Business Law (28) in the Department of Economics have the most enrollments.

Due to the pandemic, the summer semester initially starts digitally. The beginning of the lectures varies from department to department, but operations have usually already started.
