- The four first-placed teams from the 3rd league (since FC Bayern II came first, the fifth-placed team moves up): Würzburger Kickers, Eintracht Braunschweig, FC Ingolstadt, MSV Duisburg
- 21 national cup winners
- Three representatives from the three largest regional associations (Bavaria, Lower Saxony, Westphalia)
DFB-Pokal on TV and stream
The final will be broadcast live on free-to-air television as well as on pay-TV. The first and also Sky report in detail about the games. Parallel to the broadcast on TV, the ARD in the media library and also Sky via SkyGo and Sky Ticket additionally a live stream.

Is the video evidence used in the DFB Cup?
Yes, but not in all games. The referees have been able to call in the video assistant in disputed situations since the 19/20 season from the round of 16. In the two previous seasons, this was only allowed from the quarter-finals. The games of the 1st and 2nd round had to do without video evidence so far.
