27:19 victory in Ludwigshafen: Füchse Berlin jump to third place in the table

Second game in the new year – second victory: The Füchse Berlin won on Thursday evening at the owls Ludwigsburg with 27:19 (11: 9). It was a great success at the penultimate table in the handball Bundesliga. In the second half in particular, the capitals showed their superiority.

Since Hannover-Burgdorf and Magdeburg drew in a draw, Velimir Petkovic’s team jumped from fifth to third place with the 16th win of the season – and is right in the middle of the top group.

At first, the foxes struggled – mainly because they gave too many simple throws in the attack. This is how Ludwigshafen equalized for the first time at 7: 7 (21st minute). As a result, the Berliners were able to break away with three goals shortly before the break (10: 7).

The foxes then benefited from many failed attempts by the owls in the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle and extended the lead to 16:11 at the beginning of the second half. Although Ludwigshafen came up again with two goals, the captains had no trouble in the final stages and pulled away.

The Berliners, who once again had to do without the two Serbs Dejan Milosavljev and Mijajlo Marsenic, now stay one more day in Ludwigshafen to travel to southern France on Saturday. There, the team will compete on Sunday (7 p.m.) in the first game of the group stage in the EHF Cup with the French team Pays d’Aix UC in Aix-en-Provence.
