Brazil has left behind the worst week of the corona pandemic measured in new infected. A total of 259,105 people were confirmed infected over the past seven days.

It shows figures from the health authorities. The country also experienced the second deadliest week of the corona pandemic with 7,005 recorded deaths, slightly lower than the record of 7,285 deaths the week before.
Brazil has struggled to deal with the virus outbreak in the country, and so far 57,658 have died, according to the Worldometers. Only the United States has reported more infected and dead.
The latest bleak figures come at the same time as protests against the country’s president Jair Bolsonaro and his handling of the crisis in several cities in Brazil and in Stockholm, London and Barcelona, among others.
