2,500-Year-Old Gold Necklaces Unearthed in Spain by Water Supply Employee

In Spain, an employee of a water supply company found two gold necklaces that could be 2,500 years old.

This is reported by The country.

Sergio Narsiandi was working on pipes in the municipality of Kavandi when he noticed a gold necklace among the stones. When he took the object in his hands, he realized that it was an ancient decoration.

Soon he found another similar decoration. Then he called the specialists to get instructions on what to do. The Civil Guard recommended that he notify the authorities. After some time, scientists came to him.

“This will allow us to solve many mysteries about which we lacked data. The discovery is very important because for the first time we know the exact origin of two of these valuable objects, the ultimate symbol of prestige in pre-Roman communities, as well as the context in which they were deposited.” , experts shared.

Through these artifacts, valuable information can be obtained about the customs of the time, technology, cultural background and social organization. Dating these necklaces is a complex process, but archaeologists have an assumption that they are unlikely to be more than 2.5 thousand years old.

According to Angel Villiers, an expert at the Archaeological Museum of Asturias, both works are a concentration of all the ancient techniques of goldsmiths – casting, filigree, graining and welding, combined with aesthetic and geometric motifs and styles.

Kursor also reported that archaeologists had found a hunting camp that was 9 thousand years old.
