The accused is said to have broken into a storage room on the night of January 28, 2021 with a master key that he owned as a cleaner at the school and stole the computer. The devices should be made available to schoolchildren from socially disadvantaged families for homeschooling. The tablets with a total value of almost 100,000 euros have not yet been found. According to the education administration, they should be unusable for thieves.
The suspect was arrested on February 10 in Brandenburg an der Havel and has been in custody ever since.
