古川騎手が騎乗したのは単勝２番人気のメリタテスという馬でした。このレースは３歳未勝利戦で、メリタテスは初めてのダート戦でした。しかし、古川騎手は果敢にハナを主張し、外枠からスタートして徐々に後続を引き離していきました。
レースは向正面からもメリタテスがリードを広げ、最後まで余裕たっぷりに走り切りました。８馬身差の圧勝劇を演じ、古川騎手は今年のＪＲＡ１５勝目、通算では３２勝目となる勝利を挙げました。
古川騎手はレース後に笑顔でコメントしました。「スタート自体は周りと同じでしたが、これまで短いところに使っていたので二の脚でスッと行けました。４角に入る時に馬が力み気味でしたが、その中でも直線に向く時には余裕ある感じでした。ダートの走りも良かったですし、こういうスピードが生きる馬場も良かったです」と述べました。
古川騎手の快進撃は注目を集めており、競馬ファンからは称賛の声が上がっています。これで古川騎手の今年のＪＲＡ勝利数は１５となり、さらなる活躍が期待されています。
