2024 Learntec Specialist Conference in Karlsruhe: Focus on AI, VR, Data Literacy, and More!

[15.3.2024] The Learntec specialist conference focuses on current trends in digital education. This primarily includes artificial intelligence. But topics such as virtual and augmented realities, data literacy, culture of trust, environmental, social and governance and performance management will also be discussed in Karlsruhe.

From June 4th to 6th, the Learntec specialist congress in Karlsruhe will be dedicated to current trends in digital education. As the organizers announce, almost 100 speakers from business and science will pass on their specialist knowledge to the participants in around 70 practical lectures and workshops. The topic of artificial intelligence (AI) will dominate the congress, along with virtual and augmented realities (XR). Other key topics include data literacy, culture of trust, environmental, social and governance (ESG) and performance management.
According to the organizers, the congress is aimed at experts from the education sector and science as well as companies and interested parties who want to help shape digital education. The congress offers the opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people, make new contacts and learn from top-class international experts.

Submissions from all over Europe

“From the submissions to the Call for Papers, we have once again put together a high-quality specialist conference on the hottest topics in digital education. We are particularly pleased that we are increasingly receiving submissions from European countries and can share their important findings and best practices,” say Sünne Eichler and Professor Peter A. Henning from the Learntec Congress Committee.
According to the organizers, the heart of the congress are the keynotes with speakers from science and business. The event begins with a public keynote by Professor Ulrike Lucke, University of Potsdam. She presents the national education platform. The federal government expects this central institution to provide a significant boost to the digitalization of education. As a hub, it is intended to integrate educational platforms and offerings nationwide, establish common standards and facilitate access to education. On the afternoon of the first day of the congress, Lori Niles-Hofmann, Senior Learning Transformation Strategist from Canada, will give a talk about the possibilities of AI to improve digital learning. She will demonstrate how AI can be linked to organizations’ EdTech ecosystem to fully understand how people learn and where learning impacts business.

More keynotes

The second day of the event begins with a keynote speech by Professor Anja Schmitz and Jan Foelsing to support learning. A panel discussion in the afternoon will be dedicated to the young generation’s individual wishes and visions for the digital education of the future. Discussions will include Jon Buchmüller, a student at the University of Hohenheim, and career starter Tamara Frankenhäuser from the Learntec team, as well as trainees from trade and industry.
Using a holistic approach, the team led by Charlotte Axelsson, head of the teaching development unit at the Zurich University of the Arts, designs digital learning spaces that can be experienced with the senses. Using the example of a continuing education course and other continuing education formats from the Encounter series, Charlotte Axelsson will explain the corresponding pedagogical concepts, methods and strategies on Thursday morning.
Professor Eric Eller, Professor of Business and Media Psychology at the Ingolstadt University of Technology, devotes his keynote speech to the culture of trust. (th)
