–Summary of the match
Since it was a pre-season match, I would like to thank the supporters for creating such an atmosphere, just like in a league match.
We are in the middle of camp, and the players have been training extremely hard, so I think they were exhausted, but I think they played with all their strength. Regarding the content, I think it will take a little more time to reach our goal. As I said at the beginning, I think the players gave their best despite the tough conditions.

–3 out of 4 points came from set pieces.
We started training on set pieces a little early, so I think the players were highly aware today. Since he scored a point, his offense may get a lot of attention, but he was also able to hold his defense to zero, so I think we’ve been able to reap the benefits of what we’ve done so far.

—Evaluation of Nakamura and Takahata who assisted from CK.
The kicker is very accurate, and I think he kicked the ball with great precision in the actual match. I think the other thing is how I can match up with the players inside.

–Matsubara and Jermaine returned for a practice match.
Although I participated in general practice, I didn’t have a chance to actually play an 11-on-11 game, so although my condition was not bad today, I consulted with the medical team and the players and decided to play for a limited time. I got it. I think I was able to do it without rebounding.

–About the aim of today’s practice match
First of all, we decided how we could express on the pitch what we have done so far, including practice in Iwata, and what style of soccer we would like to play. That’s how we got here. I wanted to see in today’s game whether or not they were able to organize these things in their heads, and how they expressed it on the pitch. Although it hasn’t happened many times yet, I was able to see a lot of conscious efforts, so I think it was great.

――What do you want to gain from it and improve upon it?
Well, I think it was a good thing that we were able to hold the score to 0 including the preseason match and plus practice match. However, there were some scenes where it wouldn’t have been strange to be attacked, so of course we have to fix those. Also, although we scored a lot of goals from set pieces, we need to improve our play from the flow and create shots that can be taken. We will continue to improve on this.

–Did you make any discoveries or takeaways while trying out various combinations of players?
There were some players who played in positions that were not their original positions, but in that sense I think there were new discoveries there, and I felt that the players themselves also brought out their natural strengths. With injured players returning, I think there will be fierce competition once again. However, being able to see that side of him there was a great benefit for me.

Keita Takahata

–Looking back at the match
Personally, I’m still not 100% in terms of my condition, but I think I was able to do what I wanted to do and show some of my characteristics, so I feel like I was good in that regard.

–What strengths were you thinking about in terms of offense and defense in the left-back position?
In terms of defense, I wanted to improve my strength by coordinating well with the players in front of me and the players to my side. I think what is expected of me in terms of offense is to improve my game, so I think I was able to do that everywhere.

–What do you think of the combination on the left side?
We still have a long way to go in terms of coordination, and after the game we said things like, “We should do this better.” I think if we keep doing this, our coordination will get better, so I want to continue to improve our coordination from practice.

–What did you keep in mind when you took the corner kick that assisted Kanuma’s goal?
For set pieces, the place to kick is roughly determined, and I didn’t aim for Kanu (Nao Kanuma), but I’m glad that Kanu took the ball well.

Nao Kanuma player

–First, after the preseason match
It was our second overseas match, so it was great for us to win as a team, but I think there were still a lot of things we needed to improve on. My impression is that there were still many areas lacking in attack and defense.

–Scored two goals with a header from a set piece
For the first goal, Shun (Nakamura) threw a good ball, and the opponent was marking the ball in the zone, but I didn’t have a marking, so I think I was able to time it well and hit it well. For the second goal, Keita (Takahata) gave us a good ball and I just hit it at the right time, so both goals feel the same.

–We’ve played two practice games so far, and we’ve been involved in scoring in both games. Are you feeling the response?
When this season started, I wasn’t able to put up numbers last year, so I thought that my goal was to become a player who could put up numbers. The last two games have gone well in that regard, so I think it’s good.

–How has the team responded?
I think we are getting better at switching between offense and defense, but we have a lot of new players and there are still gaps in our combinations, so we need to improve on that in the future.
