Chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir, revealed that FIFA was impressed with Indonesia’s success as organizer of the 2023 U-17 World Cup. From stadiums, access, hospitality, airport hotels to other services received appreciation.
“FIFA’s response to the 2023 U-17 World Cup is positive,” said Erick Thohir in an interview with Indosiar on Saturday (2/12/2023).
Erick Thohir revealed that FIFA considers the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia to be one of the best in the history of the tournament.
Through his Instagram account, FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, gave sky-high praise to Indonesia, which he considered to have succeeded in hosting the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
“A fantastic night in Indonesia for the 2023 U-17 World Cup final,” wrote Infantino on his Instagram account, @gianni_infantino, Sunday (3/12/2023).
“This tournament is extraordinary. Indonesia has been an extraordinary host. The warm welcome and hospitality is like no other place,” explained Infantino.
The friendliness of the Indonesian people made Germany U-17 and other national teams feel happy and at home while appearing at the 2023 U-17 World Cup. One of them was expressed by German striker, Max Moerstedt.
“It’s really nice here, the atmosphere is different. People are always smiling and kind, so I should be like that too,” said Max Moerstedt after Germany won the title.
If the players, coaches and other parties appreciate Indonesia, we as citizens of the Republic of Indonesia must of course be proud of Indonesia which has successfully hosted and the Garuda Muda National Team which has fought in the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
