2023 Club World Cup: Complete Schedule and Manchester City’s Participation

Club World Cup 2023 will roll out soon. Manchester City will compete in this event. Following complete schedule for the 2023 Club World Cup.

The Club World Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia 12-22 December 2023. Seven teams will participate in this event.

Six teams are Champions League champions in their respective confederations. They are Flumiense (CONMEBOL), Man City UEFA), Urawa Red Diamonds (AFC), Al Ahly (CAF), Leon (CONCACAF), and Auckland City (OFC). Meanwhile, another team is Al-Ittihad which has the status of host.

Al Ittihad will play in the opening match of this event against Auckland City at King Abdullah Sports City (12/12). Both teams must go through the 2023 Club World Cup in the first round.

The winner of this match will be awaited by Al Ahly, who are the champions of the African Champions League, in the quarter-finals. Another duel in the quarterfinals will feature a match between Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds vs Leon from Mexico.

The two leading teams, namely Fluminense and Man City, immediately qualified for the semifinals. Fluminense will wait for the winner between Al Ahly vs Auckland City/Al Ittihad as opponents. The Citizens will face Urawa Red Diamonds or Leon as potential opponents.

Manchester City is certainly determined to continue the dominance of European clubs in this event. UEFA representatives have always won the Club World Cup since 2013.

The last club from outside Europe to lift the trophy at the Club World Cup was Corinthians in 2012. The Brazilian club beat Chelsea at that time in the final 1-0.
