Tax refund for 2022 for many Poles it will be much higher than in previous years. This is the result of tax changes that took place last year. Recall, from July 1, 2022. PIT tax was reduced from 17 to 12 percent. The lower rate in advance payments was applied from July, and in settlements from 1 January. Therefore, the Tax Office must return overpaid tax millions of Poles.

The Ministry of Finance informed who will receive tax refund for 2022. They can count on a transfer from the Tax Office full-time employees, contractors, retirees, single parents with two children and families with children.

– In the PIT settlement for 2022, there will be less tax subsidies than usual. In 2021, there were about 2 million taxpayers subsidizing their PIT. We estimate that this year it will be about 1.2 million taxpayers – informed Artur Soboń, Deputy Minister of Finance.

The additional payment in the annual settlement for these taxpayers will be a refund of the amounts that the taxpayer had at his disposal in a higher amount during the year.

From February 15 taxpayers can submit tax returns for 2022 using the Your e-PIT service. This method can be used by people who settle on the PIT-37 and PIT-36 forms. After logging in, you can complete allowances and deductions, and then accept the settlement.

This year, taxpayers can donate up to 1,5 proc. your tax to a Public Benefit Organization. Until now, it was 1 percent.

There is plenty of time to file your taxes this year. We can submit tax returns until May 2 (Tuesday). Due to the fact that April 30 falls on a Sunday, and May 1 falls on a holiday, we have two more days to file a tax return for 2022.
