2022 NBA Draft: Selection order, prospects and first picks of the last editions

Fortune winked at Orlando Magic y will have the first pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, to be held on Thursday, June 23 at the Barclays Center in New York, for having won the Lottery. The Draft is the possibility offered by the NBA to match the performance of the franchises by proposing that those who had the worst record during the next season prior to the event be the ones who choose first among the top college or international club prospects.

The Lottery is a draw between the teams that did not enter the playoffs and determines the order of the first elections. Orlando Magic won first pick, Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets will be second and third, respectively. The order of the pick is not inalterable since the franchises use these possibilities of choice as currency of exchange and negotiation.

There are two rounds of the draft and teams have five minutes to make a decision on the first choice and two minutes on the second.

The rights of the selected players become exclusively linked to the franchise that chose them to subsequently make the contractual arrangement that allows them to play official matches. The NBA established a salary scale for rookies so fixing the link is not a problem.

Jabari Smith Jr., Chet Holmgren and Paolo Banchero They are the best projects and they will surely be the first three picks. From the outside the French Ousmane Dieng and the Serbian Nikola Jovic They will be the most likely to be selected in the first round.
