Thailand itself confirmed itself to be the winner of Group A of the 2020 AFF Cup after silencing the host team Thailand with a score of 2-0 in the final match which ended on Saturday (12/18/2021) night WIB. Playing at the National Stadium, Thailand did not get significant resistance from Singapore.
Thailand’s advantage was even created in the first half, where Yusef Elias Dolah scored a goal in the 31st minute and Supachai Jaided finally scored in the 45+2 minute. After that the score of 2-0 lasted until the first half ended, even until the game was over.

With the 2-0 win, Thailand also has the right to be in first place in Group A with a total collection of 12 points from four matches, which means they always win in the group phase. Meanwhile, Thailand was able to score 10 goals and only conceded once.
Meanwhile, Singapore had to settle for second place with a collection of nine points. Singapore was able to win in the previous three matches and only experienced one defeat when they met Thailand in the crucial match.
With this result, Singapore will meet the first place in Group B, which is still controlled by the Indonesian national team. If the Garuda squad wins over a draw against Malaysia in the final Group B match, then Singapore will automatically meet the Indonesian national team in the 2020 AFF Cup semifinals.
