This new investment corresponds to the 3rd phase of a program credited globally with an envelope of 800 million dollars to be mobilized over 10 years in California.
Over the past 5 years, $ 400 million has been used in this state to develop the Electrify America charging network.
The new windfall of 200 million dollars (approximately 166 million euros) will be used within 30 months to develop 3 actions.

The first step will be to strengthen the charging network itself. Already, 90% of Californians live within 25 kilometers of an Electrify America high-speed charger. The new terminals will be partly installed in many metropolitan regions of the territory. Where motorists are most likely to charge their electric cars most often. So close to shops, but also in residential areas where residents find it difficult to plug in their vehicles. Highways and other heavily used roads will not be forgotten, receiving equipment capable of delivering up to 350 kW of power.
The second axis pursued by Electrify America will be to participate in actions to raise awareness among Californians about the use of electric vehicles. And this, without favoring brands.
Finally, 25 million dollars (20.8 million euros) will have to be made available to the “Green City” initiative of the Long Beach-Wilmington region. This involves setting up charging stations for electric heavy goods vehicles (buses and trucks).
