The pink marks and footprints painted on the road, in the meeting areas, do not comply. The Canton urges the City to withdraw them.

Gray bitumen has recently become variegated in downtown meeting areas. Candy pink squares, same signs, footprints and bright yellow animals: a colorful choice “so that users are aware of new developments in soft mobility”, according to the Municipality. It is however not to the taste of the Canton. “The idea is nice but not necessarily relevant; and above all, these markings are not regulatory, ”notes Roland Godel, spokesperson for the Department of Infrastructure (DI). The footprints, and the pink color of the signage, are in the crosshairs of the State Councilor Serge Dal Busco (editor’s note: except for parking spaces, only white and yellow are authorized on the roadway, stipulates article 72 of the federal ordinance on road signs). The PDC magistrate asked the City a few days ago to erase them “quickly”.

How does the Municipality explain its error, when will it be corrected, and at what cost? Requested, the Department of Planning, Construction and Mobility did not respond.

These fanciful patterns are difficult to understand, even accidental, because we no longer know where to look. We want to know how much it will cost to erase and replace them! ” The party also wrote to the Federal Roads Office to denounce the case. At the head of the socialist group, Olivier Gurtner notes for his part that “the principle of signage is its clarity. Too much fantasy is therefore counterproductive ”.
