2-year-old child hospitalized with 0.3 grams of alcohol in blood

Last Friday in Nîmes, a 2-year-old boy was hospitalized at the request of his parents. He thus had 0.3 grams of alcohol in his blood.

The situation is as curious as it is worrying. On Friday March 18, exactly a week ago, a little boy aged 2 and 3 months was taken to the crèche. An establishment located in Nîmes (Gard) and where the child was regularly dropped off. Nothing abnormal so far. Our colleagues from Midi Libre report, however, that shortly after arriving at the crèche, the child would have challenged the staff by behavior that did not resemble him.

0.3 grams of alcohol in the blood: the boy hospitalized at the request of the parents

The same staff ended up calling the child’s parents to alert them to the latter’s state of health. The couple had returned to pick up the boy at the very beginning of the afternoon, we are told. The child had been entrusted to pediatricians so that the mystery would be lifted, and it was probably with some horror that the parents had learned of the first results. These had indeed revealed that the little boy was under the influence of alcohol. He had precisely 0.3 grams of alcohol in his blood. It was at the request of the parents that the same day, the child had been hospitalized at the University Hospital of Nîmes.

A complaint filed, an investigation opened

The child is doing much better today. Still, his condition last Friday remains unexplained. A complaint was filed, and as a result, an investigation opened and entrusted to the departmental security. When could the boy have been drunk? Before arriving at the crèche or just after being dropped off there? Questions that remain unanswered for now.
