The penalty stems from a failure in the licensing process a year ago.
Second division FC Blau-Weiß Linz protested on Friday against the deduction of four points for the coming season. The sanction was pronounced by the league in the course of the licensing procedure due to a delay in the annual financial statements as of June 30, 2019.
Managing Director Stefan Reiter said in a mailing that this failure was due to the previous club management. In the meantime, the club has been excused. The Upper Austria had also been fined 10,000 euros by the league. This penalty is not contested.
