The young man in the Wonche accident ultimately did not survive. He died during his transport by the SMUR to the CHU. It could have been undocked and was in absolute emergency.
The accident happened overnight. Around three in the morning, the firefighters had to intervene on Route Nationale 2, on the road to Wonche, near the Cap station, located in Baie-Mahault, on the edge of Lamentin.
The firefighters found a car embedded in a tree, with two unconscious victims inside, a man and a woman.
The woman died on the spot. She was twenty years old.
14 people have died on the road since the start of the year.
