18 Defendants Convicted for Drug Possession and Use in Jeddah, Including Men, Businesswomen, and Students

The Criminal Court in Jeddah convicted 18 defendants, including 17 male and female citizens, in addition to a resident of Syrian nationality, who used and possessed 8 types of drugs inside a chalet in Jeddah.

The conviction verdict included the convicts’ abuse and possession of cocaine, shabu, and hashish, as well as meeting with corrupt persons. The verdicts also included imprisonment and a travel ban, according to “Okaz.”

It became clear that among the convicts were men and businesswomen, merchants, a marketing director, and female students in nursing and pharmacy faculties. The Court of Appeal ratified the rulings after the convicts submitted objection notes to the rulings. The total number of prison sentences amounted to 80 years, in addition to a consequential penalty by preventing them from traveling for varying periods.
